August 4th, 2013 :  West Coast Challengers Community Volunteer Event – Orange County Food Bank, 2013

     West Coast Challengers returned to the Orange County Food Bank in Garden Grove, CA, to once again volunteer to help the elderly and less fortunate families in our communities, who are dependent upon the gifts of food. The Orange County Food Bank distributes 15 million pounds of food annually. In addition to the 23,000 people that the food bank serves directly each month, it also provides food and personal care items to over 300 charitable organizations. Read more ...

     One of the club's most popular events, West Coast Challengers held its 3rd Annual "Cruisin' thru the Canyons" event which began with club members meeting up in one of several pre-meeting locations from which to caravan to the main meeting location from. Club members met up in the Inland Empire, Orange County and Los Angeles County to caravan from. By 9:00 am, the various groups began rolling into the main meeting spot and staging area in Woodland Hills, CA. May 26th, 2013 :  Movie Under the Stars

     When the club learned that the sixth installment of "Fast and Furious" franchise was in final production and that it would be featuring so many Dodge vehicles, West Coast Challengers knew it had to do something fun to mark the release of the movie on Memorial Day weekend. March 24th, 2013 :  2013 Spring Festival of LX’s

     Spring marks the return of warmer weather, birds singing and flowers blooming. For West Coast Challengers, it signals the return of the Spring Festival in Irvine, CA. This year marked the 8th year of the annual festival with 389 Challengers registered to attend. Out of those cars, West Coast Challengers accounted for 100 of them. In other words, 1 in 4 Dodge Challengers present at the event and 1 in 10 of all modern Mopars was from West Coast Challengers. Read more ...


March 11th, 2013 :  Come Mod Your Car Day #7

     West Coast Challengers club members met up at Civic Center Park in Irvine, CA, for the seventh installment of what has become a club favorite event, "Come Mod Your Car Day." This exclusive club event is where club members are invited to bring their minor modifications to install on their Dodge Challenger in a park like atmosphere with other club members who have performed the same modifications to assist in the install. January 2nd, 2013 :  10th Annual Tour d’Orange

     In what has become an annual event for the club, West Coast Challengers celebrated the New Year by taking part in the 10th annual Tour d'Orange, a cruise with over 300 cars of all makes and models, from classic Mustangs and Mopars to exotic Ferraris and Lamborghinis. December 16th, 2012 :  “End of the World” Cruise

     One of the best known things about Mayan culture (2000 BC to 250 AD) was their penchant for creating calendars stretching centuries into the future. On December 21, 2012, their calendars suddenly end. Many theorize that the reason for this is that the world, as we know it, will come to an end, that the Mayans were predicting the future demise of mankind. West Coast Challengers decided to have fun with it and created the "End of the World" cruise for its members. The weekend before the slated end of the world, club members rolled out just after dawn.      A handful of West Coast Challengers club members attended the 8th Annual "Mopars by the Bay" Car Show in beautiful Monterey, CA. We all left our various homes at different times to head north, and we all meet up on Friday evening at Fisherman's Wharf for the event's show and shine which was a lot of fun. September 16th, 2012 :  Saleen Annual Car Show and Open House

     Club members Don, Julie, Doug and Shawn rolled out early in the morning to attend the Saleen Annual Car Show and Open House in Corona, CA. Upon arriving at Saleen's shop, Steve Saleen, the man, the legend, greeted the club members and personally parked them in some prime parking for the car show in a shaded area on each side of the bay door entrance, which was a great and unexpected treat! September 10th, 2012 :  Antelope Valley Mopar Club’s 13th Annual MOPARTY Car Show

     West Coast Challengers was graciously invited to attend the 13th Annual MOPARTY car show sponsored by the Antelope Valley MOPAR Club, with proceeds going to a local Fallen Heroes Fund. Club members were scattered to the four winds this weekend, attending many events across the southland, but some of our central California club members together with some of our northern Los Angeles club members set their eyes on this car show. August 26th, 2012 :  Coastal Cruise and Brewery Tour – San Diego, CA

     Club brewmeister Mike, through his brewery connections, arrange for the club to receive a private tour of the Ballast Point Brewery in San Diego. With the tour arranged and confirmed, the next few months were used to lay out the plans for a club cruise down the coast ... West Coast Challengers club members met up at one of the four designated meeting spots that we arranged for them and a final meeting spot where all groups would come together for a caravan and cruise down the coast to San Diego. August 5th, 2012 :  West Coast Challengers Community Volunteer Event – Orange County Food Bank, 2012

     West Coast Challengers spent the morning volunteering at the Orange County Food Bank in Garden Grove, CA. Meeting up around the corner, the club caravanned over to the food bank together, rolling in around 8:00 a.m. After a quick check-in, club members were introduced to the food bank and about their mission to provide less fortunate families and the elderly who may be faced with choosing between a roof over their head, medicine and even food. Club members began meeting up 7:00 a.m. for a short caravan into Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim, California, where the club had reserved both a picnic location and a parking area large enough to hold all of the club members who expressed interest in attending.      Popular with club members last year, West Coast Challengers held its 2nd Annual "Cruisin' thru the Canyons" event which began with club members meeting up in Orange, CA, just to the west of the first of the many canyons the club would be cruising through. Club members met up in varying locations, from the Inland Empire members meeting up in Corona, CA, to our Los Angeles members meeting up in the South Bay. June 11th, 2012 :  West Coast Challengers Tours Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)

     West Coast Challengers took advantage of the JPL open house, where JPL and NASA opens their doors, invites the public in, and makes available its employees to answer questions from the public. This was a two day event, and we were told that, for a few hours, many were turned away because the facility had reached maximum occupancy. Luckily for us, we have a club member who works at the facility and he directed us to the best place to park. We drove in and drove out without so much as a problem, which was fantastic.      West Coast Challengers club member, Bill (aka CrankCase), took his 2011 Inaugural Edition 392 Dodge Challenger out to the Mojave Air and Space Port in the high desert of California for the inaugural running of the Mojave Magnum event, a 1.5 mile speed contest.      Club members woke early and met up in Van Nuys for the exclusive West Coast Challengers "Mopars & Magnums" range day and cruise event. Rolling out from a local Starbuck's, club members were taken towards the mountains of the picturesque Angeles National Forest where they encountered the twisting and winding roads of the canyons there ... But the cruise through the Angeles National Forest was just the precursor for the excitement that laid just up ahead -- Angeles Shooting Range in Lake View Terrance, CA, where the group was headed. May 13th, 2012 :  All American Powered Car Show 2012

     West Coast Challengers met up with its Bakersfield club members to attend the All American Powered Car Show hosted by the Mopars of Bakersfield car club. Club members from the SoCal area rolled out in two groups. The Friday group rolled out Friday afternoon from Torrance to caravan together heading for the Sheraton in Bakersfield for an overnight stay, while a Saturday group met up early to form a second caravan leaving from Los Angeles the next morning. April 30th, 2012 :  13th Annual Burbank “Kiwanis for Fun” Car Show

     West Coast Challengers attended the 13th Annual Burbank "Kiwanis for Fun" Car Show in Burbank this weekend. 20 club members in 18 cars came out to support the Kiwanis and their efforts to help the children of our communities as well as spend time with one another which is always a joy. April 22nd, 2012 :  7th Annual “Salute to Veterans” Parade

     West Coast Challengers was invited to participate in the 7th Annual "Salute to Veterans" Parade in Riverside, CA. Arrangements were made for two local high school cheerleaders to carry the club banner in front of our cars on the parade route and club member Don arranged for those participating to adorn their cars with an American flag to round out the club's salute to our country's veterans. April 8th, 2012 :  Come Mod Your Car Day #4

     West Coast Challengers held the fourth installment of its "Come Mod Your Car Day." Club members once again brought their cars out to perform minor modifications in a park atmosphere among friends and fellow Mopar enthusiasts. March 25th, 2012 :  2012 Spring Festival of LX’s

     Planning for Spring Fest 7 began almost at the same time registration opened on January 1, 2012. West Coast Challengers has grown enormously since the last Spring Fest event, so the need for a staging area became even more important. The club had members coming from as far away as Fresno to the North, San Diego to the South and Kingman, Arizona to the East. Covering an area of some 50,000 square miles of the west coast. March 11th, 2012 :  Plasti Dip Spray Party

     West Coast Challengers gathered in Canoga Park for a day of learning and supporting their fellow club members as some members decided to try their hand using Plasti Dip to spray different items on their Dodge Challengers. Some club members chose something as simple as the DODGE letters on the back of the car, while others went for larger items such as blacked out wheels. Read more ...


March 5th, 2012 :  The Ghost Run – Calico Ghost Town Cruise and Road Rally

     Last year, club member Curt was selected to represent Mopar in Autoweek's America Adventure. The adventure took Curt to several ghost towns and he suggested that we take the club to visit one and make a cruise out of it. Calico Ghost Town was the obvious choice due to its close proximity. So we began planning to do just that and Curt gave the cruise a nickname, "The Ghost Run." Read more ...

     West Coast Challengers attended the 9th Annual Rotary-CARE Show in San Juan Capistrano this weekend. Some 20+ club members rolled out in support of both the San Juan Capistrano Rotary Club and local animal shelters and pet adoptions through the CARE Foundation (Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort).      West Coast Challengers attended the 4th annual "Jeff's Fun Run" (poker run) hosted by a fellow local club, Pickups Limited, Orange County Chapter. Days before the event, when rain was confirmed to be in the forecast, the club members, to their credit, all wanted to go anyway, with some even saying that it would be fun cruising around in the rain -- and they were right!      On its "Butterflies by the Beach" cruise, West Coast Challengers would trek northward, up the Central Coast, en route to Pismo Beach to witness this year's Monarch butterfly migration ... October 16th, 2011 :  Placentia Heritage Festival and Car Show 2011

     West Coast Challengers attended the 25th annual Placentia Heritage Festival and Car Show on October 15, 2011 at Tri-City Park in Placentia. For many of our new club members, this was the first time having their Dodge Challenger in a car show, so all spent the week cleaning and sprucing up their cars.      We had a great time attending the Mopars by the Bay car show hosted by the Monterey Bay Mopars car club. We also had the opportunity to chat with the club members from CenCalLX, NorCal Challengers and the Bay Area Modern Mopars. July 18th, 2011 :  Great Park Balloon Ride and Brunch

     West Coast Challengers members descended on the Great Park in Orange County to experience both the park and the free balloon ride there ... The balloon can easily be seen floating up in the air by those even remotely close to park. It almost appears to be a huge flying pumpkin with its bright orange color, a perfect fit for Orange County. Read more ...

     West Coast Challengers made an appearance at the annual Show and Performance meet and greet event in Oceanside, CA, this weekend, July 9, 2011 ... We staked out some prime real estate on the grassy area and set up our easy-up. May 24th, 2011 :  Yosemite Cruise with NorCal Challengers

     West Coast Challengers was graciously invited by our Northern brethren, NorCal Challengers, to accompany them on their annual Yosemite Cruise. This trip has been in the planning stages for some time and met its fair share of delays (one requested by myself due to Mopars at the Strip). Nevertheless, working through everyone's schedule, the date was set for the trip -- May 21, 2011. We decided to make a weekend out of the trip out of it due to the distance. Read more ...
